Assessment:

This two-year course is assessed through an external examination at the end of Year 11.

Paper 1: Non-Fiction Texts

  • 1 hour 55 minutes
  • 80 marks
  • 50% of GCSE

Paper 2: Contemporary Fiction

  • 1 hour 55 minutes
  • 80 marks
  • 50 % of GCSE

Spoken Language: This is set and marked by your English teacher.  It is a compulsory part of the course and is certified separately. With Pass, Merit or Distinction.
