• Students complete ‘do now’ retrieval practice activities at the start of every lesson. These are self-marked in red pen, with corrections made if needed.
• All teachers will provide verbal feedback throughout lessons.
• All teachers will mark extended written work using marking grids (which are written in student speak to cover what went well and a target) will include to correct communication and accuracy of language.
• Teachers will mark extended written work using codes where necessary:

MW = Missing word SP = Spelling WW = Wrong word EN English O Order

Teachers will highlight a bullet point if a pupil has not covered this.

• Group feedback given after each written piece of work, followed by DIRT

Pupils will have time and space dedicated to improve a target aspect of their work.

• Students use red pens to self-mark their work in every lesson. They are encouraged to always aim to improve their answers, even if they are correct.
• For reading and listening tasks, peer assessment and self-marking is used where we deem it appropriate.
• All books/folders should evidence continual marking of students work where appropriate.

• Students use red pens to self-assess their work. They are encouraged to correct their work where necessary.
• Teacher inspect students’ booklets during lessons for quality of presentation and tidiness.
• Work of an unacceptable will require the student to redo the work.
