This curriculum map provides an overview of the languages journey students will experience throughout the academic year. It outlines the sequence of linguistic topics, cultural themes, and communicative contexts alongside key assessment points designed to monitor and support student progress. Autumn 1 Vive les vacances!
To allow pupils to talk about their summer and to introduce them to the perfect tense.
Knowledge of countries and transport
Consolidating knowledge of avoir and être in the present tense
Understanding and using the perfect tense of regular -er verbs including some irregular verbs 
Introduction to the perfect tense with être verbs 
Expressing opinions in the past tense using c’était/ce n’était pas + adjective
