Key Stage 3 |
- Pupils will receive verbal feedback on ‘retrieval’ starter activities every lesson.
- Verbal feedback is given through questioning methods as appropriate.
- Pupils will receive feedback on knowledge-based assessments throughout a unit of work, at least five times per half-term.
- Pupils will self-mark and correct classwork completed in booklets every lesson through whole-class feedback strategies.
- Pupils will receive personal feedback on key assessment pieces at least twice per half-term. This will be marked by the teacher in their exercise book in accordance with departmental policy.
- Pupils will be given the opportunity to improve/redraft and correct work in response to specific teacher targets.
- Gap tasks focus on repeating/improving specific sections of examination work, as directed by the teacher.
- Pupils will complete a summative end-of-year assessment annually. This will be marked by the teacher, and they will receive feedback on their performance.
- Spelling, punctuation, and grammar feedback is provided on all writing tasks, with a focus on 3-5 key errors per piece.

Key Stage 4 |

- Pupils will receive feedback on knowledge-based assessments throughout a unit of work, at least five times per half term.
- Pupils will, self-mark and correct classwork completed in booklets every lesson through whole class feedback strategies.
- Pupils will receive personal feedback on key assessment pieces at least twice per half term. This will be marked by the teacher in their exercise book using GCSE rubrics. Pupils will receive teacher comments alongside marks for the specific question.
- Self and peer assessment occurs weekly, with students trained to use GCSE mark schemes and rubrics.
- Pupils will be given the opportunity to improve/redraft and correct work in response to specific teacher targets.
- Pupils will complete internal examinations as per the whole school calendar. Marks and GCSE grades will be provided based on exam board grade boundaries for the specific papers used.
- Following teacher feedback, pupils will complete post-examination analysis sheets and set targets for improvements
