Type & Frequency of Feedback

Key Stage 4
  • Year 11 – verbal feedback and written feedback lesson. Constant feedback.
  • Teachers use live marking and verbal feedback within lessons to comment on areas of merit or improvement.
  • Students complete ‘do now’ retrieval practice activities at the start of every lesson.
  • Teachers use exemplars of students’ work either within lessons or as part of feedback on exam practice questions.
  • Students complete an exam practice question at the end of each topic (roughly every two-three weeks). Students will receive personalised feedback and be given the chance to upgrade their answer during lesson time.
  • Students complete mock exams (past GCSE papers) either at the end of a unit or during scheduled mock exam windows.
